Introductory note by Anna Seregina, a fashion designer.
The collection is inspired by a personality and creativity of the great innovator, philosopher and admirer of life in all its manifestations, by Pablo Picasso. Beyond any doubts, this great artist had an extraordinary vision of art. He became the founder of his own new style of cubism. Being created by Picasso himself, this style formed the backbone of architecture and artistic images of ANTE KOVAC collection.
The subject of the painting “Girl on the ball” appeared the flagship of the collection and its keynote idea. This time, we stepped beyond our own frames and presented this story line in the modern author’s interpretation, in the form of “living paintings”. Is it possible to assume that the characters of the painting are alive, that they can communicate with one another, that each of them preserves some unspoken idea which can be thoroughly thought or even pronounced? What if that girl on the ball, being so fragile, subtle, vulnerable, feminine, and mysterious, lives in every woman somewhere in the depth of her heart? What does she think about? What does she feel? What does she dream of? These questions and thoughts of the living language of art, its symbols and its message became an inspiring energy source for the creation of PICASSO collection concept. This collection is dedicated to the main character, a modern woman. She is free, sensitive, craving for everything that is eminent and creative. She is confident, brilliant, lively, stylish, and independent. But behind this lady in the depths of her soul we can find the Girl on the ball. And we dedicate this ode from ANTE KOVAC to Her.
